I didn’t think it was possible to see NEOWISE from this far south, mainly because it sets so early in the evening that I usually don’t have my telescope setup by then. That and we tend to have a lot of clouds on the horizon, but my wife said one of her friends mentioned they have seen it so I thought I would give it a shot. I didn’t have time to pull out the entire telescope so I grabbed the Canon 90D and a tripod and gave it a shot.

I haven’t done much of this type of imaging and not having the tracking and image rotation you get from a GEM mount made it a bit of a challenge. But I was able to get 5 good 15 second images. I had tried earlier to stack images like this in PixInsight or DSS but didn’t have much luck. So I tried stacking it with just Photoshop (iPad version no less). I think I have a lot to learn on foreground vs sky images but I’m sure I will have it figured out the next time NEOWISE comes by... in the year 8820
