As I'm learning this new hobby I've watched hundreds of YouTube videos on processing techniques and settings for how to get the images that others are getting. I reached out to Steven Morris (https://stevenmorris.com.au/) via his YouTube channel because he has the same scope and camera but his images have a lot more color in them. In comparing our exposure times and filters we were pretty close but my images didn't have that color pop. The only thing I could find was the gain setting, Steven said he started with 300 and is moving down to 200 but it really helps you get more of an HDR image to work with. So last night I changed that setting and had some pretty remarkable results.
My first target was to revisit M8 Lagoon Nebula but this time I wanted to set the field of view so I also got M20 the Trifid Nebula... I think they are a big improvement on my first image of M8
My next target was IC5070 Pelican Nebula, this was my first attempt at a pretty faint target and I had an issue with N.I.N.A midway through the session so my framing got smaller. Ok, it was my fault, I opened up SharpCap to do the Folder Camera Live stacking and accidentally connected to the actual camera and N.I.N.A didn't like that so I had to start the session over again. Either way I like the results but always room for improvement
