A new step for 1865 Astronomy

As you might have read the site is named after the Lat / Lon near the island my family and I moved to for 4 years.... I little island off the east coast of Puerto Rico called Culebra. But now that we moved how can I continue to call it 1865 Astronomy... well my family surprised me a couple of years ago with a NexDome observatory :D

It has taken a while to get it setup but we are finally starting to get it setup. My plan is to have a fully remote observatory so I can continue to benefit from the dark sky from anywhere my life takes me... though its not up and running yet it has started to take shape and I hope to have it fully operational by the summer if not sooner.

The plan is to put the EdgeHD 11 in the observatory with the Eagle Pro 4 controlling everything and bring back the RASA 8 to accompany my Radian Raptor 61 travel setup for imaging around Austin TX and other locations I may find myself in.

The NexDome looks to be an awesome setup though assembly and alignment are going to take a while until I'm fully confident to operate the scope remotely and hope the dome closes by itself even if we lose power, internet, or any other acts of nature the Caribbean will offer it.
