Description

The Radian Raptor 61 is a small Triple Apo Refractor telescope with short focal length giving it a fairly fast focal length of F4.5 and a very wide field of view. I got this as a travel scope that I could take with me in a small suitcase and yet still do some amazing images. In fact I took it on our family trip to New Zealand and even though it was only not cloudy one of the 14 nights we where there I did get it out to shoot the famous Carina Nebula.

This paired with an ASIair Plus, electronic focuser and either my 1600MM mono and filters or the ASI294MC color camera make it super small and light yet still be capable of some great images. Originally I wanted to use a Sky

This was my first refractor telescope and honestly my first non-celestron telescope so there was lots of learning to do. Currently I have it paired in a side by side mount with my Solar scope to capture the Totality during the eclipse with the solar scope doing a lot of the heavy lifting through all but 2.5 mins of totality. Fingers Crossed it works out.
